Local group: SEMCO

If you’re interested in i3 Detroit, perhaps you’re also interested in SEMCO, the SouthEastern Michigan Computer Organization.  Meeting since 1976, this is a group of computer users and enthusiasts with a lean towards the PC/Windows world, though they also have a Linux SIG (special interest group).

SEMCO meets in Southfield on the second Sunday of every month.

This is the first post in a series, spotlighting other local groups. If you know of someone we should include, post a comment!

Robofest @ LTU

Detroit area hackers and makers may be interested in Robofest this Saturday at Lawrence Technological University.

“Robofest is an annual autonomous robotics competition focusing on learning STEM (Science, Engineering, Technology and Math) for students in grades 5 – 12 and college students.”

i3 Detroits First Meeting was a Success!

Our first meeting was a success. We did not setup an agenda for our first meeting as the goal was to have a meet and greet and to discuss building an agenda as a group for our next meeting. We had a total of five individuals that all came together to discuss the continuing growth of the i3 Detroit Hacker Space.  We will currently continue to hold a weekly meeting every Tuesday at 7:00 P.M to help continue to build our membership.
