Gas bottles (cylinders of CO2, O2, Ar, acetylene, and MIG mix) in the Welding Zone are refilled by members
If a cylinder runs out while you are using it, take it to be refilled or mention it on Slack.
Don't leave a surprise empty tank for the next member.
Here's how to make the swap:
- Take the tank over to one of the shops (Linde/PraxAir on Dequindre near 13 mile recommended)
- Leave the tank in your car
- Go into the store and tell the counter person you are with i3 Detroit (we're tax free) and you need to swap out an acetylene tank
- Per their instructions, drive around, do the swap
- Go back inside to pay (if you know the size, you can pay prior to the swap
- Take a picture of the receipt and go to i3detroit.org/reimbursement and do the thing, if you want to get reimbursed. If you'd rather it just be a donation, skip this step
- If you can't float the money, reach out to the Treasurer to arrange having them call and pay over the phone.
