Storage Zone includes Member Project Storage (all claimable member storage plots), Large Project Storage, and the B-side mezzanine between Wood Shop and Ceramics. View the Standing Rules for the main rules governing Storage.

Many Zones have storage options for materials applicable to that zone. Zone Coordinators set the rules for their zones.

Member Project Storage

Member Project Storage includes all numbered storage plots: the wood pylons, the plots between Leather and Laser Zones, and the lockers. There are currently 132 plots.

Plot Guidelines

• You must be an active member to claim a storage plot
  • Active members can have one (1) storage plot claimed
• All claimable storage plots are numbered and have an index card holder + business card holder
  • Member Storage Plot locations include the Wood Storage Pylons, Laser Pallet Rack, and Lockers
• Claimed plots must be labeled with the owner's contact info (name, slack handle, email/phone #)
• Member Storage is intended for active use. Please take home anything you are not actively using for project(s)
• Do not storage flammables in Member Storage. They belong in the flammable cabinets

To Claim A Storage Plot

• Check the plot you want to claim
  • Is the plot claimed in the CRM by an active member?
  • Does it have anything in it? Is there an index card with contact info?
• If the plot is unclaimed, you can claim it
• Place an index card with your name, slack handle, and email/phone # in the plot's index card holder
• Claim the plot in the CRM
  • Note: We are currently switching over to our new CRM. For now, keep using the old CRM for Storage; I will contact everyone when we're ready to switch over to the new CRM for Storage
  • I will be referencing the Storage claims in the old CRM when we switch to the new one, so make sure you have your plot properly claimed. You can lose it otherwise

Maintaining Your Storage Plot

• Best practice is to use a tote bin or other container to hold everything within your plot, and to label it with your contact info (name, slack handle, email/phone #)
• If you choose not to use a container, make sure all items stay within the limits of your plot and do not extend into the hall or your neighbor's plot, and label them
• Every few months, review the contents of your Storage Plot. If you are not using something, take it home or dispose of it
  • Ask yourself: are you really going to use that scrap of wood, or the piece of acrylic that looks like swiss cheese?
