Intro
8 inch jointer with Shelix cutterhead
Rules
- No adjustments allowed except by authorized maintainer.
- Maximum cut depth is 1/8 inch.
- Always wear approved safety glasses/face shields while using this woodworking jointer. Everyday eyeglasses only have impact resistant lenses; they are not safety glasses.
- Before operating this woodworking jointer, remove tie, rings, watches and other jewelry, and roll sleeves up past the elbows. Remove all loose clothing and confine long hair. Non-slip footwear or anti-skid floor strips are recommended. Do not wear gloves.
- Keep safety guards in place at all times when the machine is in use. If removed for maintenance purposes, use extreme caution and replace the guards immediately.
- To prevent nicks on the blades, please check your board carefully and remove nails, screws, and any other metal bits.
- Work with pure wood only, please! NO Masonite, composites, plywood, or plastics
Instructions
- Jointer can be used for multiple operations:
- Jointing edge of boards
- Chamfering edge of boards
- Flattening one side of warped boards
- Read and understand the entire owner's manual before attempting operation. Instructions for various operations can be found in Operations Manual. It is recommended to review instructions to get expected results.
- Read and understand the warnings posted on the machine and in this manual. Failure to comply with all of these warnings may cause serious injury.
- DO NOT adjust the outfeed table except when changing blades! if you check them and find they are out of adjustment, contact the zone warden or equipment trainer, they will advise what action you should take.
- At all times hold the stock firmly. Always use a hold-down or push block when surfacing stock less than 12 inches long, or 3 inches wide, or 3 inches thick.
- Do not perform jointing operations on material shorter than 8", narrower than 3/4" or less than 1/4" thick.
- The hands must never be closer than 3 inches to the cutterhead.
