Hybrid Meeting Etiquette

  • Be excellent.
  • Attendance and voting can be found in the #meetings slack channel.
  • Please show up early if you are concerned about your audio.
  • If there is no one waiting to speak feel free to do so at the next opportunity.
  • If there is someone waiting to speak, please say that you are raising your hand in the google call chat. (This will be demonstrated)
  • Please refrain from other side conversations, these can be distracting for the rest of the meeting and make it difficult for the chair to keep track of what's going on.
  • If you're in the space remember that having a single person speaking at a time is helpful for those attending online.

 * we need to pick a theme -- Jersey suggested Demon Hunters (purple and blue)
 * we might need a party organizer -- Jersey is lining up volunteers and making suggestions but I don't know if he's doing the organizing
 * see Halloween party channel in slack
 * No organizer yet - usually the leader/organizer has final say on theme
 * There's a suggestion for lego halloween or Minecraft halloween

Interest in a monthly "hang out" meeting?

(added by Aj as a discussion topic)

We added extra meetings to facilitate getting things done and because it seemed like there was a need for them -- but some of the discussion around doing it was also related to a desire to have more community time at i3 as well

  • We have very little on the schedule for this meeting (as of me typing this, ~4pm day-of)
  • Instead of having full extra member meetings, would there be interest in having our normal member meetings, and adding a more chill socializing 'meeting'?
    • Intention of discussing the space and things we'd like to see get done, and whatever ideas we come up with can go on the next 'true' meeting's agenda
    • Can still do show-and-tell + broom party
    • Could consider doing it on a Friday -- we'd have more people around during tours and more going on + if anyone can't attend Tuesday night meetings, now there's a Friday meeting too

Zone Funds

  • Board hasn't allocated funds by zones
  • Most funds was allocated for build out which got messy
  • This last year we nixed funds to zones to get funds in order and new CRM system. Many people were not paying.
  • This next calendar year may be the year that we allocate funds by zones
  • We are getting better with our finances!
  • Huge thank you to our treasurer who has done a lot for the space! It was a massive lift to do all of this.

Zone updates

Automotive Zone

  • Have added some nicer disposable gloves than were available previously . Ones generally used for the maker space are not robust enough - users tend to go through multiple pairs in a short time.
  • Magnetic sweeper has been procured and is parked along the wall by the b-side garage door. There maybe needs to be some instruction/how-to to tell people that it's a good idea to sweep the area outside the auto zone because people can get flats.
  • Have prepared a survey/questionnaire that Sid would appreciate if everybody at i3 could fill. Not just aimed at regular auto zone users, it's for all members. It's anonymous and takes 5 mins to do it. Gives us direction for how to improve. Link to survey: https://tinyurl.com/i3autosurvey
  • Carlos Cuartas added reflective film to the windows overlooking the desk in the zone - thank you!!

Storage Zone

Had a meeting on September 12th

  • Talked about potential changes to storage and the parking permit / ticket system
    • Looking into options for keeping a history on parking permits / tickets
    • Also looking into Parking Tickets; overall consensus was that the space has outgrown the way parking tickets currently work, and we're not doing ourselves any favors by using the "announce" group for parking tickets. Still working out an alternative.
