PBS CELEBRITY, RED GREEN, VISITS i3 DETROIT FOR STATUE UNVEILING

Public Broadcasting Celebrity, Red Green, will visit i3 Detroit for the unveiling of a custom commissioned 16 ft duct tape statue in his likeness on Saturday, July 17, 2010 at 11am. The public is welcome to come visit the shop and partake in the unveiling. The event is free.

The non-profit, community workshop has been building this statue for over 2 months. It is a wood and metal frame covered in 3M duct tape. Red Green and the statue are sponsored by 3M.

The full color statue has articulating arms, mouth, eye brows and neck. The eyes light up depending on the statues mood - white for happy and red for mad. The statue has a number of other tricks up it's sleeve that will be unveiled on Saturday.

Red Green is in the Detroit area as part of his Whit & Wisdom Tour 2010 to raise money for the PBS local stations. He will be performing at the Royal Oak Music Theater on Saturday, July 17, 2010 at 8pm. Tickets are still available – Redgreen.com

Red Green will also be appearing at the Clarkston, Mich. Ace Hardware Store on Saturday, July 17, 2010 from 2pm to 4pm. The i3 Detroit duct tape statue will also be at the event.
