Intro
Rules
You must be authorized to use any of the powder coating equipment, including the oven.
Instructions
WARNING: Never allow anything to get too close or come into contact with the heating elements at the bottom of the oven.
Preparing the Furnace
- Make sure the furnace is OFF before placing parts inside.
- Transfer the painted parts into the oven.
- Close the door and secure both latches.
If coating multiple parts, spray everything first and cure them together.
Starting the Furnace
- The furnace power switch at the wall is secured with a combination lock. You will receive the combination at authorization.
- Unlock the lock and turn the power switch ON at the wall.
- Go to the control box on the right side of the furnace.
- Turn on both knobs:
- Blower
- Furnace
Temperature
- The bottom red number shows the target temperature (400°F).
- The top number shows the actual oven temperature.
The oven will begin heating automatically.
Heating typically takes about 35 minutes, depending on what is inside the furnace.
Cure Time
When the oven reaches about 390°F, start a 15-minute timer.
IMPORTANT: Do not leave the area while the furnace is running. Stay nearby so you can monitor the process.
Cooling
When the timer finishes:
- Turn OFF the furnace and blower.
- Open the door fully to cool the parts.
Cooling usually takes 15–25 minutes, depending on the size of the part.
Removing Parts
Wear welding gloves when removing parts in case they are still hot.
Remove all parts from the oven.
Do not store items inside the furnace.
Shutdown
- Close the furnace door.
- Latch both latches.
- Go to the control box on the right side of the furnace Turn OFF both knobs: Blower, Furnace
- Turn OFF the power at the wall.
- Lock the power switch again.
