Instructions
Training is not required to use this kit. If you are using the kit please call EMS at 911, tell them you have a major bleeding kit available. They can walk you through how to use items if you are unsure.
This kit contains tourniquets, hemostatic gauze, regular gauze, gloves, and bulky dressings to contain major bleeding.
Maintenance Info
The only expiring component in the kit is the hemostatic gauze. The expiration date is noted on the safety seal.
If the kit is used, items need to be replaced.
FAQ
Is there training for this? While not required, Stop-the-Bleed Training is available for free at many locations. We can teach Stop the Bleed here at i3, also. Please contact Andrew Youmans for more information. Stop the Bleed is approximately a 90-minute course. There is the option for a full in-person course or completing the online portion and doing a short hands-on skills portion. https://www.stopthebleed.org/get-trained/online-course/
