Starting this off in userspace because it's a very tentative idea jot...

First half-hour: Social time, food, project pitches (~5 min ea), get 'em on the whiteboard. During this phase, projects that aren't doable given present resources or their present state are disqualified, but hopefully sent away with a clear list of what they need to be eligible in the future. Any project is fair game: Personal stuff, space stuff, even work stuff if your employer is okay with that and it doesn't create a conflict of interest. At the end of the first section, the projects considered viable are put to a vote. The group picks one to focus on. Don't pick secondary projects if there's any plausible way to keep the talent busy on the winning project. Hit that thing HARD.

Rules of Project Club:

  1. You have to contribute. If you don't have an applicable skill, work on assisting the others who do.
  2. One project must be completed. If this is in jeopardy, any secondary projects suffer while we focus on the primary.
  3. Someone should be doing documentation. Grab Bluecam and set a 5-minute repeating timer to remind yourself to take more pictures.
  4. Don't bitch if people diverge from your vision. If you wanted it done your way, you should've done it yourself. Project Club is for the stuff you didn't do yourself.
