Hailing from The Boston Area, also known among his friends as “The Axeman” for his guitar building, and instrument design, Thomas Tufts now attends LTU for Humanities closely focusing on the thesis that what we craft reflects what we value. Having studied multiple trades from a young age such as Blacksmithing with Lee Sprague of Coventry, RI, Woodworking with the Costello Brothers of Wyrmwood fame, and Lutherie at Atlanta Guitar Works. he became interested in working with historic materials from Detroit and carrying on his family business in the crafts. He traveled here hopeful to continue his studies, roll up his sleeves and dig into the city to carve out a life for himself and carry out humanitarian efforts.
