Lock picking for Fun Saturday evening with Pumping Station:One

psoneSo what are you planning on doing this Saturday? Well you are coming out to i3 Detroit to hang out with the members from Chicago’s very own Pumping Station: One. A crew of approx. 8 members from Pumping Station: One are heading out this Saturday to spend a day and evening with everyone at i3 Detroit. Their very own Eric Michaud will be teaching a class on lock picking for fun from 8pm-10pm this coming Saturday. If you are interested in taking the class please sign up on the i3 Detroit websites class page. Also if you just want to come and hang out with the members from i3 Detroit and the great people from Pumping Station: One you are welcome to do that as well. If you have a project that you want to work on in the space bring it, if you want to hang out a chat or bounce ideas around that is ok too.

We hope to see everyone come out and meet the crew from Pumping Station: One or maybe you have not been to i3 Detroit yet and have been wanting to check it out. This would be a great weekend to do this. If you have any questions please feel free to contact us.

Review: Intro to Screen Printing Class

NOTE FOR WEB VISITORS FINDING THIS POST YEARS LATER:

i3Detroit has grown and changed a lot since 2009, adding hundreds of tools and capabilities, but screen printing is no longer something we offer. This old blog entry, like all our old blog entries, is kept online for historical completeness.

For current information, please see the main page of www.i3detroit.org and consider visiting the space ASAP!

Original post below:

Thanks to everyone who attended the screen printing class.  We had over 10 people take the class with Sarms from Modati and it turned out great.  We had screens with records, buildings and robots.  Can’t wait for next craft night.  I wonder what it should be?  Send your ideas to nbritsky@i3detroit.com

Unmeeting Tonight

At last week’s meeting, we moved to amend the bylaws so that meetings are on the first and third Tuesdays of the month. The Board met afterward and adopted the amendment, and it’s done!

Tonight, therefore, we will do no official business. All are welcome, members and guests alike, to hang out and do whatever. Get here!

Some police attention…

After some safety-related upgrades to Nick’s cupcake car, some new folks set aside their fears of grave bodily harm long enough to take it for a spin. Fourth in the seat was Russ, i3Detroit’s founder, who was letting some traffic pass when a Royal Oak Police patrol car cruised up…

Filmed at roughly midnight, the video’s a little dark, but the lights in the sprinkles really make the cupcake stand out. The first car (the one we’re all hollering “CAR! CAR!” about) blows right past, and then it gets interesting!
